Büren, 13th August 2019 - Trailblazing visit to the industrial estate at Paderborn Airport: High-ranking representatives from Zhengzhou, the capital of the Chinese province of Henan, signed a cooperation agreement with CP Tech GmbH from Büren. The aim is the joint establishment of a research institute for new mobility concepts for the global automotive megatrends e-mobility and autonomous driving. The local company CP Tech, part of the Nedschroef Group, is thus further expanding its presence in the Chinese market in addition to its location in Shanghai.
Around 95 million people live in the Chinese province of Henan. Local politicians are seeking sustainable solutions to their pressing traffic problems. Xiong He, Minister of Economic Affairs of Henan Province, and Guangchao Liu, Chairman of Henan Yongtianchuanfu New Energy Industries Co. Ltd, were much impressed by CP Tech GmbH during their visit: "The innovation potential of CP is extremely high. CP is set up to be future-proof and fulfils all the technological requirements for close cooperation with companies from our region", declared Xiong He, who also added: "We are very pleased that we can draw on CP's know-how in setting up the planned research institute!
For Thomas Casey, CEO of CP Tech GmbH, the cooperation with the Chinese is a further confirmation of the company's current strategic orientation: "Global traffic development requires new vehicle and mobility concepts, for which we already have innovative, integrated complete solutions thanks to our many years of experience", said Casey. He added that the automotive industry is currently changing at an enormous pace, shaped by global trends such as e-mobility, urbanisation, lightweight construction, networking, sustainability and autonomous driving.
In addition to Thomas Casey, the CP delegates included Deputy Managing Director Stefan Ludwig, Sales Director Steffen Zacharias, Dr. Mathias Hüttenrauch, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Nedschroef Holding, Peter Stanzel, Senior Consultant of Vela Performance and Dr. Peter Maskus, CEO of Acabion, who took part in the exchange on the topic of mobility concepts. In a guided tour of the company, the guests from China were able to see prototypes of relevant projects such as autonomous vehicles. Digitalisation initiatives implemented in production also aroused particular interest. Afterwards, the itinerary focused on the combined competences in new mobility, motor sports, hypercars and high performance materials, especially with regard to future automotive markets and related topics. The established projects e.Go and StreetScooter were mentioned as examples, along with other technologies in the field of Future Mobility.
